And now it just dosnt lock at all. I havent had time to look at it. But the weird thing is how it liek worked then locked after a few trys. meaning the cable wasnt like broke. well ne ideas? other than the obv like cable might be broken. Juist wondering if it has even happend to u guys b4. The car also only has 14800 miles on it so its not like been used alot. thanx for the help

check you rear brakes. And then check your brake fluid to see if you are low. Other than that the only thing next would be to take out the center console and check the cable

ebrake cable is seems to be loose or catching on something. look under the car and you will see a nut attached to a cable that runs to the rear brakes just tighten the nut up a little bit and see if that works. under driverside door or passenger side door cant remember which door its under.

if you can't figure it out I would hope with that milage it still has a warranty. Let them figure it out. I got a 97 GT and the parking brake has worked fine for me. Just check all the cables you can see to check if there are any loose or bad connections/spots.

i don't think you guys understand what he is saying, it sounds like the e-brake isn't staying in the up position which leads me to think theres a problem with the button mechanism on the e-brake itself
