Default Xcal 2 w/ Mail order Tune

I dont really want to waste the $500 bucks for a dyno tune right now with my mods, esp when i will be going S/C this summer. However, I was thinking of getting a XCAL 2 tuner to unlock some power to tie me over til then. I know it will probably end up being the same price as a dyno tune, but a least i will have a tuner to tweak things as needed. My question is, does it make a difference where you buy the XCAL 2 tuner and who downloads a tune on it for your mods? Are they all about the same or are more reputable mustang performance shops download better all around tunes? What shop should i trust that has reliable mail order tunes?

Depends on where you buy the tuner.

If you get the SCT2 from Modular Powerhouse ($399), they will include some free tunes. Contact Tim at MPH, and ask him about his N/A tune for the modular Mustangs and I'm sure he'd include that tune for you. Send them an email and ask them some questions, he answered me personally when I inquired and said he would include that specific tune. The guy is apparently a god with Mustangs, and has tons of experience with a huge variety of setups.

Cool, i'll contact MPH and get it from there.

And yeah, i had my x pipe put on at a reputable mustang place and was talking about getting a S/C this summer, and he said it costs about $500 to get it tuned. That does sound like a lot though, i wonder what other people are paying.

they are right 500 bucks is about the price most people pay for a dyno tune...now when i say a dyno tune i dont mean just a couple dyno runs..u can do that for like 60 bucks ..im talking about sitting there and tweaking stuff for hours. When i got my procharger installed it took them about 3 hours to install everything and a whole next day to dyno tune it for me...14 runs
