Help or Hinder the 4.6?

Help or Hinder the 4.6?
Hey guys my 01 4.6L 2v GT with Auto tranny I heard that performance parts take away from the car its self. But do these certain types of mod Shorten the life of your motor or Expand the life. CAI,Catback? Do they shorten the engines life spand of expand it thanks guys. Also what is the Best Tunner SCT or Diablo for the 3:73's gears?

CAI and Exhaust will not be bad on the engine. Both of those actually give you a little bit better mileage and might enhance the life a teeny tiny bit. Gears on the other hand might have a negative effect on car life. This is do to the fact that on the highway you will be at higher RPM than if you had stock gears.

Pretty much anything that makes your car faster will shorten the life. An exhaust will make you travel in lower gears or make you rap out you rpm more so that you can show off your exhaust. Gears make you travel at 2000 in 5th instead of 1500 in 5th. but if you keep your car for a LONG time and you MOD the hell out of it, you will eventually blow and eng, tranny or rear end. but that is why they have manufactures that make parts to replace the ones that you blow. Pretty much the worst you can do to a stang is blow the heads, crack a block or throw a rod. But pretty much unless you catch that stang on fire you can change out parts.
