Convertables are so much heavyer for a reason. That reason is extra chassis support due to no roof being there. Coupes don't have that support.
Stay away from it!

Looks like a good way to waste a TON of money, and make your car unsafe. Not only is the coupe not designed to have the roof uncomplete, but unless you add a rollbar it will colapse in the unfortunate event that you have a rollover.

shoulda bought a convertible like me
It aint $1200 anymore...
Try around $2500.
The kit does use new Subframe Connectors though to stiffen that chassis, but in my opinion its not nearly enough because you are REALLY cutting into teh structural integrity of the car.
