Default PI Swap install price?

My friend is going to be getting a 98 GT and he is insterested in doing the PI swap. Anybody know how much a shop might charge for the install assuming he had everything to do it?

Thats not that bad.... You figure $600 for the cams and the other 400 for the install....

I was quoted $1800 for just the labor for 22hrs x $85.00, I repeat ouch.
Not sure where these people live to get it for $1k.

if you are familiar with the 4.6 motor then yeah im sure he can do it in his driveway, would just take some time and patience....i'm actually thinking about doing it in my driveway with my dad soon too once i get all the parts. Don't forget to remind your friend though that if he does do the install himself, he will still need a dyno tune for the change in compression and such...

yea my moms bf is doing it with me in the driveway. Or maybe we'll clean out the garage. Anyway, hes rebuilt engines before b/c he used to be a mechanic, he's gonna help me do it, plus my friends dad is a mechanic in case I get stuck and im like a family friend. I would not do it if I had to pay for labor.
