SCT/Diablo. Tune on the fly?
I was wondering how easy it is to load a tune with a Diablo/SCT. I was reading somewhere about the Superchips tuner and it said in order to do a tune you have to unplug your car for a while, wait a half hour, do an ancient Indian spirit dance and so on and so fourth. I was wondering because I wanted to know how hard it would be to switch between running 93 and 87 octane. Over the summer I might be doing long roadtrips all the time so if I didnt have to run premium all the time it would save me a bit of money. So does anybody know what you have to do to switch between tunes with your handheld?

only thing i am familiar w/ is sct multiple bank chip which you need to buy the selector switch and have the tune stored then you flip the switch and change tunes. some say it can be done on the fly, others say they must restart the car.
im getting the selector switch and a tune soon when i put a few more miles on (maybe a month or two)
what tuner do you have and are you blown?

theres no half hour wait. you just turn off the car. plug it in, and follow the directions. I just retarded my timing earlier and it took about 4 minutes (including 2 minutes of it loading the tune) to do it. Its easy to retard your timing back for use with lower grade fuels. Thats what i just did and took 4 minutes. Very simple.

Its really not that hard to change your tunes, but not on the fly. I just bought the Diablo Predator Sport model. all you do it plug it in. It prompts you to turn the key on and off a few times. That pulls your stock tune out and stores it. Then same deal putting the performance tune in. Im sure you heard me shooting my mouth off about mine. The performance I got out of mine is incredible. Honestly if you keep your shift points 2800-3000 you dont burn much fuel. The stuff just costs so much.
