Like a chrome-like appearance on the outside? Or are the ports polished?

No I believe it is just a flat silver.... I know I know, I wish it looked better too, thats why I might go with the BBK Plenum and BBK throttle body. The BBK plenum actually looks aftermarket.

I have the combo, like it alot for the money. I bought the satin, ground and polished the inside, I'm sure I made up the 2hp difference of the accufab and saved $75 to $100, that I promptly put somewhere else in the car. Polished surfaces improve airflow!

I think old-school, cuz I am old-school!
