Default 4.6l stroker kit?

I have a 97 GT and will be starting the PI swap. Will I gain any horsepower by stroking my 4.6l out to a 302 or just torque? Also is this worth doing if I do not plan on adding a SC for another 3 years or so... Or should I keep my stock bottom end w/ 94,000 till it breaks. Thanks

Is it worth doing while the motors apart for the swap or should I wait until I get a SC to upgrade to forged internals?

if your motor's apart and you have the money i would definatly stroke it. "no replacement for displacement"

dont even think about the CHP kit. if you can forge the motor while it's apart, even if you think it'll be a while before you s/c it. taken care of the motor will stay healthy for a long time, s/c or not. the 302 will give you more torque, but not much hp. i'd go with a VT kit, or a local engine builder if someone near you is good with mod motors. where do you live?

I live in Philadelphia. I have a friend who is a great mechanic. He owns a 95 GT 5.0 stroked. He is doing all the work and for a great price. I just need to know what to get done

I have P&P PI heads, PI intake, crane re-grinds, ford racing shorties, o/r H, flowmaster catback, pro 5.0, k&n CAI, pro-m 80mm mass air, 24# injectors, 255 fuel pump, 3.73's, c&l upper plenum. I am debating on getting the ram air kit that matches my hood. Any suggestions?

no I already had the H-pipe. I got the headers because of the swap. I have bought all my parts from ebay so it has not cost too much
