15 psi on a street tire.. I reccomend NOT doing that again,, ever....

Your 60' is *as I'm sure you will come to learn* out of this world.. lol...

Come into throttle with ALOT more clutch next time, and until you gain traction, keep your foot off the floor.

You'll be amazed at what kind of a difference even a 2.2 60' or so will make. And your relatively low trap speed is coming from being new with the car.

I went 4 times before I felt like I was shifting well at all. Your first time out is learning, and almost nothing else.

+1, with the stiff sidewall regular tires have all you are doing is lifting the middle of the tire off the contact patch, keep your pressure above 25 PSI on a regular tire, low PSI is for drag radials only.

Hell, with the nittos I don't dip past 18, and the MTs I just barely let it see 15 PSI cold... and thats on a tire with a 50 sidewall on a 15 inch rim

I think you are missing the wise advise of the previous posts. If your car isn't running properly, sure that's going to be a factor in low et/mph results, but don't get inthe mindset that you're going to be John Force after your first couple, (thousand), times out.

My first time out in my car, well, I'm not going to tell you how horrible I was. But I sucked BIG time. Mainly because I had no idea what in the heck I was doing, I didn't know how to properly drive the car,and I wentto the stripin what I thought was a fast car on street tires. Boy was I wrong.

Your 60' times mirror what mine were when I first took my car out. Spin city baby. I don't care what suspension mods you've done to the car, street tires are not going to hook up as well as a DR oreven close to aslick.

I'm way out of stock trim in my car and I stillhave problems hooking my, (almost 12.5" wide),DR's on the launch.By the way, like others have said, not a good idea dropping down to that low of a pressure on your street tires. Well, unless you plan on driving out into the sand dunes.

My problem at this point is not having the proper suspension set-up for optimal weight transfer.

Don't be to hard on yourself or your car. This is going to sound corny as heck, but practice makes perfect. Trust me, you'll never be perfect but without practice, you'll never know how close to perfect you can get.

hey i got a question... i have a 2002 mustang gt and i went to the dragstrip this weekend and the best time i got was 15.0... i know that is horrible and i thought it was just maybe cause i just got the car and im a ****ty driver stillso i let my friend drive it and he has had a bullitt for a year and gets it in the 13.60's with like 2 bolt ons... and he could only get it to run 15.0... what do yall think i should do... im prob. going to get plugs and wires this week and give it a tune up and clean the fuel injectors... anyone else has any tips... thanks...
Um, just in case yougo outshoppingfor a brand new high performance set of plug wires for your 2002 GT, you need to know something. Your 2002 GT doesn't have any plug wires.

Street racing has very little to do with drag racing at a strip. At the strip, the single most important factor is launch, and because the surface is prepped you can get alot more traction. A car that is setup for the strip might run an identical time to you, but with a much better 60' time, and you would beat him on the street, where traction is more limited.

Well, the way I look at it, yes your 60ft is bad... but so is your 1/8th, when I was stock I ran a 9.4 1/8th mile, there fore I think your spinning pretty good going into second gear right after your 60ft mark... Im sure If you had good tires + practice your car would be running low 14's... I dont think theres anything to worry about.
