Don't take your foot of the gas when shifting. Pretty sure. [8D]

when I turned 16 I got a toyota tacoma 4cyl 4x4 5 speed.. I powershifted it, speed shifted it, shifted with never letting off the gas.. and sometimes did a combination of all of this.. and sometimes did it in the mud!

it has never grinded, broke, shuttered or anything (knock on wood)

i've had my mustang for 2 years, I've occasionally speed shifted it when driving... and ALWAYS drove the **** out of it at the track.. never letting off the gas grabbing gears as hard as I could..

needless to say.. I'm dropping the tranny out next week.. it won't go into 2nd if your gettin on it..

Over time your tranny WILL break if you abuse it.

To the original question here is a weird example;

Imagine a 2 year old child with the fighting knowledge and ability of Bruce Lee, but still with 2 year old power. He may be a bad *** when he moves but its not going to hurt. 302 ft/lbs of torque is alot of power to handle violently for a tranny that is designed to hold less then the 3650 (360 rating). The Ranger simply doesnt have the power to brutaly destory it quickly, but over time it will begin to fall apart from repeated abuse over time.

I had over 200 power-shifted track passes before breaking a shift fork. It's a matter of having a good technique and a proper operating clutch. Another 200 and I had to replace the 2nd gear syncros. Half of those passes were on the juice BTW[8D]
