Just had my 4.10's put in and the guy said it needed new bearing put on did anywone else need new ones car only had 40,000 miles on it. It cost an extra $125

i dunno, dont they say to buy the Master install kit which comes with a new bearing?

safe bet would be to replace it whether or not he says you need it or not.

I had my 4.10s installed at like 50,000 miles or so but i bought the master bearing kit just to be on the safe side.

lets just say i was a moron and didnt do research when i got my 4.10s... i redid my rear end with 4.10s and ford lsd... cost just about $1,000 for parts/labor.. so if you got your 4.10s + bearing parts and labor for $500 or less you did very well.

I see no reason why you shouldn't...an extra 125 now is better than a lot more later

$125 isn't terrible, but aren't the bearing kits $80? The labor is the same since you gotta press the bearings either way.
