If you just want the rough idle, disconnect a cylinder or two. That'll give you a nice rough idle.

Learn a little about what makes a cam work. There's a lot more information about a cam needed that waht "stage" it is (a video game term at best). Lift, separation, duration, and timing events determine the idle quality, power band, rpm range, and torque curve of the engine...along with all the other variables.
