Default o2's / measuring a/f

Just looking for confirmation. Do the rear o2 sensors play any part if you are running an off road mid pipe, can you just plug them? Also do they play any part in measuring A/F ratio.
Thanks

U need to keep the rear os's, but you need a tuner to turn them off or MIL eliminators to prevent a check engine light, I am running an O/R prochamber and have a predator tuner, so no problems for me, the front o2's are the ones that tell the computer how to adjust your A/f ratio, the rears are there to measure cat performance, if you just leave them out you will get a check engine light
