I have one that was on my car when I got it. It is the one that goes into the fender. I like it, works and looks good. The sounds is not that much, just a little sucking airsound. If I had to buy one I would get the JLT because it is plastic rather than metal. From what I have heard it is much better. Most cobra owner's use them. The cheap metal on the BBK intakeheats up causing the air heat up beforegoing into the engine.
i have bbk intake. I can't compare because i've never had anything else.
I like it.
I do notice a different sound after the rain.
It could be my exhaust. It's deeper and more muscular after it rains.

I had a bbk on my 91 and it looked pretty nice, but that is about all it did. That metal can get pretty hot, defeating the purpose of the "cold air" part of it. The cai is nice and cold before you start the car and for a few minutes after that, but after driving around for a while it will be warmer than a plastic one which kind of defeats the purpose of dropping so much money on it. But like I said at the beginning, they do look nice and give a nice shine under the hood.
I have the BBK also and it does look good, but as others have said, the metal gets very hot which is most likely heating the air before it goes into the TB which is the opposite of what you want. The filter is in the fender well so it starts out cool. The JLT is made of plastic, actually PVC I think. The same stuff you can buy in Home Depot. The Ram Air has the filter under the hood with a heat shield, still the ambient airtemp under the hood is hot, heat shield or not so it may still be feeding warm air into the engine. The best solution I suppose would be the JLT fender well which uses the huge 4 inch pipe and a filter in the fender protected from the engine heat. You can get your choice of color also which I think is pretty cool.
I also have a BBK and like y2k said after it rains it sounds meaner from the colder air it looks good i got it super cheap so i jumped on it but if you want all performance the JLT would probably keep ur air a lil denser and give you a lil more grunt
