Default Dyno Cost

I just talked to a shop and they charge 450 for a preformance tune without the chip and 550 with it. Am I going crazy? This seems like its high. I thought it was around 150 an hour!
How much should it be?

No the shop here wanted 500 for the tune and three tunes on like a switchable chip. F that. Get an SCT or Diablo tuner and go have a dyno shop load a few tunes on it. . .

Yeah well you dont have a lot done so a dyno tune wouldnt be that great for you. A hand held tuner will do the trick for you. . . And go do some pulls on the dyno. Lots of places will do 3 pulls for $90. Then you can see your air/fuel ratio and see how your doing and you can base what you do with your tuner on that. Thats how you cheat the system haha. Thats what i did back in the day with my diablo tuner. .

Is it true that a used tuner can have problems? Am I best just getting a new one.

Dyno time itself isn't expensive about 110 plus maybe 25 for their sniffer if their cheap asses. My tunner costs 250 per tune
