Default Shift light help

I want to build a shift light that looks like something stock. I am thinking of putting it in in the air vent or in the guage cluster in an unsued light slot like the check engine light.

You might want to check out the Raptor Shifter. You can put that in the air vent and it works great.

I saw one that was built into one of the unused light spots on the instrument panel and I really like that one, does anyone know where I can get one like that?

WHere are you talking about, the gauge cluster?

Honestly, I was going to do the install in the vent, and after I started it, bought the raptor, and was holding it up next to the cluster I just decided to do it in the cluster. I have not regretted doing it there. Its barely noticable until it comes on, and when it does you sure know its there.

The one i saw was actually built into the guage cluster in the row of lights at the bottom( like the BRAKE, CHECK ENGINE and the traction thing) it was like a little gold arrow. it looked completely stock.

Sounds like a custom job to me, never heard of or seen such a thing.

The raptor in the vent would be completly hidden until it goes on, its already very small so you would never know its there until it lights up.

It would be pretty easy to do as well. Just route the wire behind the dash (hanger ftw) just like you would for a cluster area install, and then get a drill behind there somehow and drill the hole, put the wire thru, and then drill another hole and mount theholder (the self tapper it comes with would be real hard to use inside the vent).

I can't say enough good things aboutthe raptor. It mounts/installs easy, works great, and has notproblems.

I will probablly jusst end up doing the raptor setup. i just thought the other one was really cool. The gt500 has a yellow upshift exactly like what I was talking about but i can't seem to find any videos of the one on the modded new edge gt.

The GT-500 shift light can be seen here
