Default header bolts

I know a lot of you guys like the idea of lock tight on these bolts, some of you like the aviation wiring from bolt to bolt, and some others of you like the idea of stage 8 bolts. I'm not going to endorse one or the other but, I want to inform you all of BBK header bolts that come with the headers. The BBK bolts that come with the headers are about 4 threads too short and will cause a bad day as I recently found out and ended up sticking with the studs that come with the car. I pulled my engine this past weekend and noticed my headers were loose, big suprise there. But when I tried to tighten some of them I noticed that it wasn't catching. Took about 5 of them out and the head was stripped 3 or 4 threads down where the header bolts were catching. Put the OEM studs back in and tighten them down and worked pretty good. So as just to warn some of you all who do your own work, beware when your tightening these particular bolts. And if this is old news wish somebody would of told me!!!

Default RE: header bolts

the ones BBK sent me worked fine, actually i had to cut a couple of the bolts to fit them into tight spaces to get them started, i just gooped the crap out of them with thread lock, and mine headers have been on for over 2 months and no leaks
