Default MIL eliminator......need it or not?

I just got my cat back and x-pipe on. The CEL has not come on yet but I am told that it may in the near future. What happens if I dont have a MIL eliminator to turn it off? Will I just have to deal with the light and not know when something could really be wrong with my engine or does it hurt my performance and make me lose hp, etc....?

1) you will not have a performance issure with or without o2 simulators

2) you wont be able to pass inspection with the check engine light on, even if the guy "will" pass you, you must at least fake the computer

3) it takes ~50 miles for the computer to tell u your cats are bad

took about two days for mine to throw the code. i ran mine with the cel on for about a month, didnt notice any performance decrease. i would suggest buying the tuner instead, unless you know you will never get a dyno tune ever. also the mil's are hit or miss, some people they work fine others they have trouble with them not working at all or not working after useing them for a while.
