Default Weird Battery Issues

Ok Im thinking this could be the alternator but I am not sure. But when I am driving my car and get into it and I hit about 4 grand in rpms the batter lights comes on and I watch the batter meter drop. Any Ideas? Anyone else ever have this problem.

Identical issue myself. Was a bad alt. It tested bad 3 out of 5 times on a bench test. Had to test it that many because it tested fine the first time, bad the second, good the third and so on.

Replaced the alt, no more blinking of the battery light at high RPM.

Have it bench tested. Most likely will do the same thing mine did. Replace it.

Yeah I thought that might be it. Do you know if it can be tested in the car?

I had mine testedin the car originally. Was inconclusive because the motor will not be under a load at the same RPM as when you experience driving it. In-car tests keep you at 2000 RPM or less even under load. The light only flickers at 3.5Kand above which means only at those RPMS will it actually see a problem. Bench Test it and have them run ita few times. You'll probably see the same thing I saw, some pass, some fail.
