I filled up just before leaving the race track in Lancaster, and I was in 4th gear and sometimes 5th the whole time, doin about 60 average. It was a basically non-stop trip, Ithink I stopped once at the exit light by my house.It only took a little more than a quarter tank? WTF....I swallow a little more than aquarter tank just getting to work through the streets? I trip metered it to be like 194 miles.

Could it have anything to do with the fact I was pushing my car at redline and triple digit speeds for the whole weekend, then taking off for home?

Bizzare....I don't drive on the highways very oftenmaybe once or twice a month, but now I want a job farther away...I think my city/street mpg's are VASTLY different.

Lets see..... 194 miles / (about 6 gallons) = 32.3 MPG?

Highway driving always nets higher MPG's. You would really notice a difference if your car is used to stop and go driving of the city life.

Did you fill the tank up all the way before the trip started? If so, you're gauges is a bit off. It always reads more MPG in the first half of the tank, then drops real quick on the second half. If that's not the case, the you have one of those "magic V8's"

your stock gears plus intense highway miles equals really good gas mileage :] and you were cruising so your rpm's were low the whole time.

you would get better street / city mileage if you didn't always stomp on it when you saw me or another mustang

on the mustang cruise back in feb. i got like 25mpg on NPI :]

You said you used 6 gallons of gas, that would mean GTs have 24 gallon gas tank???
