I swear by the Escort Passport 8500. I have had this detector for over 4 years and it has saved my buttt more times than I can count. It's well worth the $300 (probably alot less now), and pays for itself when you have ample time to slow down before a cop targets you. The Valentine One is great too with the directional arrows. Either one will do, but I opted for the Passport because it was $100 cheaper and arguably has better detection.

Valentine 1 hands down. When it comes to radars, you pay for protection.

The V1 FTW!!!!

The V1 does have "POP" detection and great customer service.
The directional arrows saved me again just last night.I was driving home at about 3:00 am and was about to go through a road construction control light. You know, the ones where they leave the lights at each end of the construction zone to control traffic in both directions over one lane.Well there is little traffic on the road at 3:00am so there is no real reason to stop if the light has just changed.
I had picked up the city cop as I was leaving town and the arrow pointed to the rear.I drove down the road about amile and the arrow changed direction just asI was about to run the light. It still read the cop behind me but showed another radar source in front.
I stopped and after the two minute wait, here came a State Trooper car.SAVED AGAIN!!!!!

so you drive around at 3am running redlights because you assume no one will be on the road? lets see how long that lasts
