the average ls1 goes for 10k down in texas.... mongoose kit-4gs nitrous 1g with everything, tires gears and build rear end...ull hit 11s you might blow the **** up but you will hit 11s
My buddy bought a 98 z28 that had a stall, dumped flows, and a tnt 100 shot for 7g. He went 11.98 as it was when he bought it. Another buddy ran consistent 12.4s with a stalled z28 with full exhaust and a tune. He has put at least 30,000 miles on the car and its still runing like a champ. Its just not realistic to get a 2V into the 11s on a limited budget... It can be done, but will cost more than it would to get an LS1 into the 11s.

Dont get me wrong, I personally would go your route, but its not exactly a "budget" build.

LS1 shouldn't be in your vocabulary. Sorry, but that is against my religion. I'd rather this motor build-up cost more or take longer than for me to look to GM...
High 11's are an eventual goal. Right now I'm trying to get an idea of a strong foundation to do that on. Also, that goal is with the help of most likely a Kenne Bell, maybe a Procharger, but debating those two are for a different day.
I think I'm leaning towards the 302 right now. I just think the build would be more do-able for me. Either way, I can't wait to get started.

good man, just build your bottom end, slap a blower on it at 10psi with built rear n some sticky tires, 3.90s or 4.10s. full exhaust cams n you should be well on ur way lol

Why the attack? I am just stating that its not a budget build? THR had 3500 in that gt to get it into the 12.4s on a helluva launch. You understand that 1500 in an LS1 will do that. It doesnt take a genius to see that the LS1 is a cheaper build. Same performance and a cheaper build, thats all I am stating.

I would never do it either, but if I were you I would start with a PI swap and then do full bolt ons and maybe add in a 100 shot.

because your missing the simple fact that this is a MUSTANG site. we want to build our MUSTANG. and i bet you your car i could get into the low 12s high 11s for cheaper than buying a good condition ls1 down here.
