Default Hood Pins

I am thinking about puttin in some hood pins on my car, but had a couple of questions.

1.Can you put them through a stock hood?

2.If so, how do you do that? (even if not through a stock hood could someone tell me how to put on the hood pins. My father inlaw is rebuilding a 72 Plymouth Duster with a 340 and wants to install the hood pins.

3. Do you think i should do it?

Thanks,

I wouldn't do them unless you actually need them on a fiberglass hood or something.

+1, I think it's kind of ricey to put hood pins on a stock hood.

Try and tell that to the old MACH 1 mustang and other muscle cars owners that had them come the factory stock.

Now ricey is those stupid stick on hood pin appearance kits, now THOSE I totally agree are ricey through and through, no offence to anyone here who has them.

You can do anything to a stock hood.
This is for a after market hood, but the method is the same.

I'm doing it to mine as I think it fits in with how I want it to look, I want a muscle car feel to mine. Call me a ricer, but sticks and stones will...

Well, there really isn't a need for hood pins with a stock hood. I think they're badass with an after market glass or cb hood.
