Oh yeah and the traction control question. If I remove the boot from around the shifter, there is a plug that goes to where the traction control should be but there is no button there.

 

You don't have knock sensors. Only the cobras had them.

 

yeah I just got done reading that after I made that post. I just wanna get this problem solved by tomorrow. Ill grab some pluggs and premium fuel for starters. Like I said I dont want to have to tune it to get it to stop since it shouldnt be doing it anyway since I have minor mods.

 

I would start with 93 octane fuel. If it is detonation (which that is the wrong sound description for it) and the 93 gets rid of it then take the car to a ford dealer and have the computer reflashed (around $100) back to stock and try 87 again. If it comes back again you have a problem.

 

How much is a reflash from a dealer?
I know the car ONCE has a tune. But not sure if the guy returned it to stock, because it is now locked to another car and not mine.

Any other way to tell about a tune besides traction control? When I hooked up a buddys XCAL 2 under the option traction control it said on but I dont have a button.

 

Yeah more than likely your car has a tune in it. That is the easiest way to tell because most people that tune their mustangs turn the traction control off.

I had a dealer wonder how I knew one was tuned. I asked him if the car comes with the tuner and if not I want money off the car. I went back a few days later to show a buddy and they reflashed the computer

 

Well I mixed some more 93 with the 87 and to my suprise it was a lot quieter. Maybe my imagination but I didnt really hear it at all. I plan on going and filling up with 93 tomorrow and hopefully it may be the prob. Maybe my car does have a tune and I want told about it and it is tuned for 93. I was gettin on it hard tonight on the way home and it was real cool outside WOW. I was able to bark 4the one time lol dunno y I told yall about it but it was kinda exciting. I guess Ill run premium till I unlock my tuner and will probably tune it for 87 the way gas prices are up!
