U Joints
Has anybodt changed them?I got about 26k on my car and am wondering if i should change em.I have heard a lil clunk and think that its the u joints. Are they supposed to be changed every so many miles anyway? Thanks in advance
There is no routine replacement schedule for the driveshaft universal joints. According to the shop manual they are "lubricated for life" and require no maintains. I would be very surprised to find that your car needs U-joints at 26k miles, and suspect that what are hearing is no more than the normalbacklash of a relatively high torque, front enginerear wheel drivedriveline. is your car have some kind of power adder making somehwere in the neighbor hood of 450rwhp with slicks and launching at 4500 rpms? Something similar is the only way I could see that the u joints becoming troublesome
