just looked up headers and can someone explain to me the difference between an long tube header and a short tube header...and dont say ones longer than the other lol.
Shorties really just look prettier than the stock manifolds... They dont do much of anything for HP. Longtubes should free up about 15-30hp depending on your other mods.

Why do people always say the same thing about shorties? I gained 8 rwhp with shorties when I was NPI. I've seen people only gain 6 rwhp with lt's. Shorties are better in almost every aspect:
- cost of shorties compared to lt's
- cost of installation / degree of difficulty of installation
- vehicle maintenance: on a car with lt's replacing the starter is a lot harder, replacing the clutch, flywheel, rear main seal, and/or throwout bearing involves having to drop at least the passenger side manifold which is a lot of work
- a car with lt's will have to worry about not bottoming out due to how low the headers hang
The only benefits of lt's are the better exhaust flow at higher rpm's and possible increase in hp compared to shorties.
