A little off topic but does the Girdle really help? Will it aide me if all I'm going to be making is 400?

Yes...but it's not so much the HP, it's the TQ.

Thanks, with parts in relatively good condition is 380-400ft lbs too much for the stock spline axles? With the girdle all it's really doing is helping the tortional forces on the center of the diff guts, right? I doubt there would be anyway to know how much it really does help, correct?

Keeps the main caps from torquing.

when you accelerate or launch hard, your pinion gear tries to push the ring gear away putting a strain on the main caps and can sometimes stress the bolts to the point where they will relax and stretch. the girdle prevents this. how many people have the detroit trutrac, i think thats the differential im going with when i get the money to build mine.
