Wipers coming on by themselves
Hello, I'm not a Mustang owner but I'm trying to help a friend out who has a 99 GT and his wipers have started coming on by themselves. They will come on, make a few swipes and then go back off. I drove it the other day for just a short drive and it did it twice to me. I told him it was probably the switch in the wiper stalk. Is this a common issue to Mustangs? TSB?
the EXACT same thing happens to me.
also a 99.
it has done it less now over the last few months, im kinda waiting for nicer weather to figure it out.
my best guess is the relay?
it seems to only do it for me when im turning/slowing down...i.e. pushing the clutch in or letting it out.
idk what that would have to do with, but its the only thing i have to go on thusfar.....

I had a 95 Chevy Silverado. For a while I had the same problem. I couldn't figure out what was going on with it. I had my dad take a look at it and he showed me with a jewelers lens that on the circuit board for the wiper motor it had a cracked solder joint. Once we resoldered that joint it worked like a charm. Perhaps you could check that.
FYI - about 6 months after we fixed it I started getting a lot of recall notices from Chevy about the trucks wiper blade problem haha.
