Default Aluminum DriveShafts

Anyone using an aluminum drive shaft and what brand?Did you notice a big difference especially those who are F/I? Can you just drop one in with out modifying axles or clutch or should you do them all together.

I plan on getting one and did a decent amount of research and surfing on this site. I found most of the owners of one said they didn't feel a huge difference performance wise, although they said it did rev a bit quicker.

The main benefit I've seen almost all people mention was after installing gears the car would vibrate under hard acceleration. After installing the aluminum driveshaft the vibrations were gone and it accelerated smooth under hard acceleration.

As for fitiment, you should be able to just bolt it up in your driveway with simple hand tools. Atleast that's what I've been told. It will fit with your stock stuff.

all you do is remove the 4 12pt bolts securing the yolk to the diff, then maybe wrestle with it for a second to get it disconnected from the yolk on the housing, then drop it down a few inches, then pull rearward. Then take the new shaft and with the trans yolk in the trans rotate it until the output shaft teeth of the trans match that of the driveshaft yolk, then slip it in, reinstall the 4 bolts on the rear and your done. You should notice a quicker revving vehicle, not much though.

you dont need to do it with any other mods, it can be done completely independently

I'd say get it! It weighs less than the stock and that can always be a plus.

i have the FRPP *Ford Racing Performance Parts* lightweight driveshaft, when its coupled with a lightweight flywheel you'll notice a lot better response in the low end of the car.

I plan on getting a FRPP one eventually with a safety loop. Not trying to steal the thread, but for us auto guys...can't we just buy the manual driveshaft and use our yokes already on the car to make it work for the AODE?

hmm. Yeah ive heard that since aluminum driveshafts are made for manuals, that if you are auto and want to upgrade to an aluminum driveshaft that you can simply just use the yokes already on the car and bolt the driveshaft to them and it will work...could be wrong though.
