Default Sound difference?

Currently at this time I have an o/r h and I was wondering if I were to cut the cross over and weld in the holes, how would it affect the sound? From my understanding, older cars used them for the "muscle car" sound. Anybody know how it would affect the sound on our cars. I tried finding info but unfortunately I couldn't find any info. If anybody has a sound clip, greatly appreciate it.

That connection between the two pipes aids in exhaust scavenging. It would likely cost you some hp/tq.

He's talking about running dual pipes without a crossover, not straight pipes without mufflers.

ie...x, h, or prochamber.

Thanks all for your inputs.

TimeForMiller44: I am looking at having straight pipes with mufflers.

Anyone else with input or experience with them?
