it's 1:30AM by me and im a little tired. lol

but if i read that right your nitto's (15') are 10x better then any m/t or tire?

ima have to look into this tuner
Yes. A 15in 275/60/15 Nitto 555r will outlaunch a 275/40/17 ET Street.

I hate drag radials in general tho. I hate having to finesse and slipping the clutch off the line, worrying about spinning. Don't get me wrong tho, I can do it when I have to [8D], but I'd rather dump the clutch and go!

I never heat a tire in the box. I drive thru the box, and then stop in the dry.

I consider an ET STREET a slick. I love them. I was talking about ET STREET radials. The non bias ply tire.

The radials are good, if they are 15's. Maybe you shouldn't be listening to me, b/c I am just very biased against any tire that says xx/xx/17, at the track. I am not looking for good 60fts. You can cut good 60fts on 17in radials. I am looking for 1.5's

I take any sticky tire through the box. It just helps takes the strain off the drivetrain, for that initial hit to get them spinning.

Your spinning after the box? Does this makea big difference? I always have started spinning in the box, and wait until the tires start to grab then reelase the brake and let them push the car out of the box while still spinning?

I always turn the tires over in the box (slightly) then pull forward to spin. I find that if you spin in the box it kicks up water in you fender wells that drops back down on launch. I also back into the box to keep the front tires dry.

i agree with him. my dad raced a souped up "$10,000" nova with a stock 1996 4 cyl nissan pickup and beat him. all depends on the driver

ORIGINAL: ripped camel

Another thing....

EVERY RACE IS A DRIVERS RACE! No 2 drivers are alike. There's people with vettes running 15's & there's people with vette's running 12's. The difference is the drivers. There's people with Mustangs running 15's & there's people with Mustangs running 12's!

Point? Every race is a drivers race! So knowing that what's the point of shooting down someone rush from winning a race, by adding your negative unnecessary comments?

Exactly. At our "sub-par" track, they have a really awesome setup. Both cars pull in through the middle, and go into their own lane. THEN back into the water (if you want to). The water box is huge, so you just back up, until your whole tire is wet. Then pull out of the water and burnout. No no spinning in the box, and you don't have to get your front tires wet!

01GT4.6 answered the question perfectly. You don't want to sling water everywhere. It can drip back down on the tires, and on the track. And well you can see how that could complicate things [:'(]
