Need Cats
Yeah I need some cats for my exhaust. Its a 2000 GT with flowmaster exhaust (off road catless). I have the stock cats but I really love the loud sound so I dont want to put them back on. Can you guys reccomend any highflow/performance cats for me?
It wont pass inspection right now in VA so thats why i need them. It came from AZ. Thanks

RE: Need Cats
any cat even high flow will be quieter than no cats, but i would go with magnaflow high flow cats. Or do you just need them for visual to pass inspection? Just get some cats and gut them. They wont know the difference.

RE: Need Cats
Okay ive decided to gut them. I have an xpipe btw not an hpipe. That wont matter will it?
And as far as gutting them, should I do it or will the shop do it?Ican just stick a rod through it right and make a hole or do i need to cuta hole in the side and cut out a holethrough the filter andthen have it rewelded closed again. It isnt illegal is it since there are no emissions testing in VA? (just learned that)
Any help/specifics/directions would be appreciated since I just bought the car and my knowledge is limited.

there is a visual inspection for cats during the inspection usually. you are gonna wanna most likely cut the cats into 2 halves and have them welded over the pipe. they will be empty and will just weld over your x pipe.
