I think it is fair what you did. It all depends on if it is worth it to you and how much money you think you can do the repairs for.

it is a 12 year old car, but has very low miles for that year also and since its mystic its a little rarer. but still its nothing too special. your offer seems fair to me considering its got a bad clutch and cluster. you should be able to get a guage cluster for cheap off a forum, ebay, or mps (or similar scrap yard).

I appreciate the feedback guys. Seems like most of you feel the offer I made was a fair one.

If he won't take it I'll probably walk away. If he finds another buyer who will give him 10200 for the car, even without doing any repairs, then more power to him.

Does it really matter if you feel like you low balled the guy?

If you did, then the worst thing that'll happen is he won't sell the car to you, and he sells it to someone else for whatever price he accepts.

Hell, honestly, I think you're better off offering lower and meeting in the middle somewhere than just blindly accepting whatever price somene asks.

Just my opinion. Sounds like a nice car though. I'd love a 96-98 Cobra with 50K mileage.

never feel bad about negotiating. like someone mentioned above, if they take the offer great. this is your money your dealing with the guy should not feel like its that easy to get your money. anyone who drives up to a used car and gives what they offer are FOOLS!!!

just a nickname for sn-95, it's the generation of 94-04 stangs, but most call 94-98 sn-95 and 99-04 new edge

I would not buy this car.

My reasons

1. The odo doesnt work, this means it has True Miles Unknown. This hurts the cars value.

2. Its 12 years old.

3. The paint is expensive to repair.

4. Love you.
