Default short throw cause problems?

97 gt with t-45 (pretty sure thats what it is)

bought last summer with the shorter shifter already on it. It grinds into second, and was wondering if a short throw can do that to the gearing? I dont know what brand it is. If a standard shifter would correct this, I would put that back in.

What do you think?

Welcome to the world of mustangs.... Second gear grind is our #1 complaint about t45's and 3650's.

Don't forget about getting jammed in reverse and not getting it out. At least with my T-45 anyway. [&:]

they way i look at it... if you have a t45, or a 3650, and it doesn't grind or make noise.... theres something wrong with it.
