Default Supercharger...

Alright guys, i'm thinkin it's about time i make my car a bit quicker... I was gonna put a vortech supercharger on it... my only question is, i'm not sure exactly which one to get... from what I understand the V1 is a LOT louder than the V2 (can really only hear it at low RPM)... i don't know if either has any better 'stock' compatibilty than the other... i will build the engine up as i get money to do so... but my biggest thing is... is 78000 miles on a 2002 GT too much to do that kinda work to? everythings stock on the motor (besides the CAI on there now) i was gonna stay below 8psi, because i hear i can go to like 350-375HP with no problems(w/ a good tune of course). does anybody agree or disagree to that. and if somebody can tell me which trim for the supercharger i need (S/SQ?) just not sure on the exact difference. Thanks guys!

I dont believe there is a big diff between v1 or v2..sq is the quiter version and s is louder. You can run it safely at that psi and hp range...Alot of my friends run the v2sq and have almost 100K on the car with no problems

Sounds good, thanks a lot man. I want it to be loud enough to hear through the rpms a bit, but not obnoxious... (cops around here don't like fast cars, heh). 2 more questions, i see on vortechs website "Available with straight or curved discharge and clockwise or counterclockwise rotation" How do i know which i need? All the pix of mustangs w/ s/c's look the same, so i don't see any curved discharge, would that just be for another car? And can you hook up a BOV to this or what? (sry if that last question was a stupid one, don't mind me, i'm fairly new to this stuff...)

BOV, no its a bypass valve, almost the same thing..BOV are more for turbo cars. I would call about the discharge and check with them. It might be diff depending on year of car..Stupid questions are the ones that dont get asked..better safe then sorry..Which kit are you wanting to get? A tuner kit or complete with intercooler and all?

Well, honestly i was gonna put together the one that was talked about on this thread. https://mustangforums.com/m_3332042/tm.htm
I guess the only other thing i'd have to get for my car would be fuel pump (not sure which one i need), injectors (everybody says 42lb is what i need), and i don't know what else yet.

On Superchargersonline.com they have a few different s/c's and this is where i got confused...
Vortech V-2 SQ S-Trim Head Unit and Vortech V-2 SQ SC-Trim Head Unit...

I can't seem to find any cheap units, so I may just end up buying a whole kit, but i've also been told to get a tuner kit (was told that just doesn't include the chip or somethin so i'd have to get it tuned myself) which isn't a problem cuz i think there are a few places around where i just moved that is real good w/ mustangs.

s-trim is just the louder version of the sq (hence the q = quiet). just get the whole kit and 6 hours later, no questions asked you have a car that'll blow the doors off a ls engine. still need the dyno though; but that's half the fun. the feeling you'll get standing there listening to your car at wot is the ****!

i believe the tuner kit doesbn't include the fuel pump, injectors, and tune so you still need those, so...buy the whole package. complete and done [sm=gears.gif]

if your thinking cheap just skip supercharging. there is nothing cheap to it if you want it right.not being a smart *** just telling you the truth. if you dont do it right with a good tune you will be buying another motor.your looking at 500 just for a good tune.

Go with the Mongoose kit from MPH, best bang for the buck
