do they still make the 5.0 model mustang?

and my dad has a stock (besides exhuast) 89 5.0 LX and ive driven it and shes slow as ballsnexta my stock 01 gt and i was wondering how much faster the 5.0 gts are then the lxs becuase im about to race a somewhat stock 88 5.0 gt and dont wanna put too much money on it if ima lose

they haven't made a 5.0 Mustang since the mid 90s. your stock '01 should take an '88 GT unless he's got some work done to it, or unless you're a terrible driver.

The 5.0 made it's exit in 1995 (Last year).....The mid to early 90's 5.0 notchbacks are probably the better of the stable. Weigh less and if you throw some moderate money (1k)at the motor.....LOOK OUT 12's
