Yesterday i was driving home with a friend from school and i was taching maybe 3k and all of a sudden i hear a bad clicking noise coming from the engine. so first reaction turn it off and turn it back on after a few second to see if it goes away. no luck. i asked my dad about it and he thinks its a bearing or a piston skirt cracked. and i dont know what to do. should i rebuild the motor, should i get a new motor, should i do a shortblock/longblock. i have no idea. any help would be greatly appreciated right now. thanks.

 

Are you sure you didn't throw a plug?

 

i have no idea. would it make that sound if i did??? and the sound is really loud. but i have a mechanic friend who said it also sounded like it was in the engine.

 

Post a vid of the noise. There are way too many things that can be.

 

i'll get one tomorrow and post it up if it will turn on for like the 10th time since it happened.

 

If it's a popping sound, then it could be a plug thrown out.

Hopefully everything turns out alright.

I would check several things before saying it needs a new motor???? check plug, compression of each cylinder etc.
