T45 Issues
I think I posted up about this last year. But here goes...
So I had a 4th gear issue in my '00 GT and ended up replacing my transmission with a T45 from Jasper. They sent a new one out, had it installed, but still had a grinding sound on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. It almost sounds like a rubbing right after I engage the clutch. It only happens when the engine is cold and not running up to temp.....although, I may not be able to hear it or it may be a little better lubricated when its warmer.
Since the first new transmission, I am currently on my third! Thank god for the Jasper warrantee, however, I am begining to think it is Jasper......period. So, longer story shorter, I get it back from the shop on Friday and it seemed fine. Actually it seemed a lot tighter than usuall, which is nice. Ran great. Washed and waxed her on Saturday. Monday morning hop in to go to work, and hear the same noise between 1-2 and 2-3. Brand new. No clue what it is. With the stock tranny, I never heard that. I do not drive differently than before.
Any one have experience with this or have any clue what it could be? Hanes manual has nothing! Help!

Have you replaced the clutch during all this? A clutch that's worn out, or needs adjusting could be causing some of this. What shifter are you running? You may need to back out the shifter-stops, as they could be physically hindering the shifter/tranny from fully going into the gear.
ORIGINAL: CHIC
Yes new clutch. Stock shifter. Everything shifts fine and the gears pick up, its just between shifts when the clutch engages. happened on the last two trannys.

Do you have a clutch cable adjuster? Aftermarket quadrant? I'm saying this is a clutch engaugement problem. Not the clutch itself (you said it was new) but how the clutch is working from the pedal to the tranny. Does the stock shifter have adjustable shift stops?
Get this

get it adjusted properly, and I bet you'll be fine.
Ok, to start off in answering, I broke 4th gear on my original tranny, which had me buy a new one....Jasper sent the T45. Now the problem has been on all three jasper trannys (all T45s).
When I replaced the tranny the first time, had a new centerforce clutch installed. The new quadrant I am pretty sure was installed (if not, it is sitting on my workbench with the adjustable clutch cable I will install).
I have no idea if the shifter is bent. I highly doubt it as the shop would have said something about that. I would have needed to replace it. I was trying to think of reasons why this would only happen when it is cold, but the only thing I came up with is lubrication with in the tranny. I have no other ideas. How would the quadrant or the cable fix this? Also, I did put a new throw out bearing in and it looks fine. Im still stumped.
I am going to go back to the shop and try to get Jasper to upgrade the tranny to a 3650 and I'd pay the difference. I really think it is the poor quality of the T45.

I was also thinking its a clutch engagement problem as well. I have the kit. The cable is not installed, but I am pretty sure I had the rest of it installed....jeez it was over a year ago, I have to go look. Either way, it could very well be that it just needs to be adjusted properly. I still want to see if I can get the upgrade to the 3650 though....I did have the T45 in there for about 8 months and then it completely **** the bed on me....warrantee came through though.
What fluid are you using in it? Put some synchromesh in it. Theres something you, your shop, or something in the car is doing wrong. I'd be looking for that problem, if I were you.
That's a pretty funny statement. You said upgrade to a 3650 [8D]. haha
