replacing wheel studs
anyone ever replaced their wheel studs? I broke one off outback the other night. I guess stupid *** NTB crossthreaded it or over tightened it. Up front I know I cross threaded one my self[:@]
For the rear I reckon I gotta pull the axle and brakes then press it out and press a new one back in?
for the front I guess I gotta pull off the hub assembly/knuckle and press the old out and the new in?
Anyone with experience help me out here

not trying to be a smart *** nube, but when you put the lug nut on, it is easier to turn the nut backwards until it falls on the thread. then turn to tighten, this almost eliminates the chance of cross threading (almost). as far as the studs, not really sure but maybe that will help.
I had to replace one up front. I didn't have to move or pull anything. I put the new stud through, took some washers, put the lug nut on so I could tighten it up and pull the stud through, took the lug nut off, took the washers off, and the stud was good to go.
Thanks for that info matt. I know how to not crossthread a stud. It was just the heat of the moment and I was rushing and thought it went on straight but after I put the impact on it I realized it was crossthreaded and it was too late.
I replaced mine this winter and i already had the axles out of the car. the problem i ran into with the rears was the sensor for the anti-lock brakes is in the way. i had to heat it up and slide it off the axle in order to take the stud out. my stud wasnt broken but you may run into that problem putting the new one in.
LOL
Take off the wheel/caliper/rotor. Take a hammer and knock out the old stud. Put in the new stud, puts on some washers. Take the lug and tighten it to seat the new stud. It's a 30min job tops if you've never done it before.
