Default Flowmaster Problems?

I have 40 series flows on my car and since about 4 months ago they've been making a weird noise (i'm not too sure it's the mufflers). Right around 1850 rpms they make a really loud buzzing noise and ever since i installed my o/r x it's gotten even louder. It almost sounds like when you run on certain deviders on the road or those uneven patches on the freeway shoulders. It's really annoying and I'm assuming it's the mufflers. Any one ever go through this?

I had the EXACT same problem.
Turns out for me it was a crappy weld, one of the hangers near the tranny used to suspend the exhaust had been crappily welded back on, and made the exhaust resonate and vibrate through the shifter/center console area. Quite possibly the most annoying sound ever, huh?

yeah lol it's extremely annoying and obnoxious. I'll check the hangers today and hope that's the problem. Thanks.

wow i have the same problem. when i got my exhaust installed it didn't make any weird noises. but for the past week or so i've noticed that same buzzing sound in my interior. i figured either the exhaust was so loud that this sound was inevitable, or that mustangs just aren't the best-built machines and were prone to buzzing. but i will check the welding tomorrow when it stops raining.

if i do find a crappy weld can i take it back to the shop and have them weld it again for me for free?

Depends on the shop.

Be courteous but assertive, and see if they'll do it.

Sounds like a typical chambered muffler to me. If it's what I think your talking about it's just the exhaust resonating through the car.
Actually you get that with most aftermarket exhausts, chambered or straight through. I have it with my LM1's but it's very brief. It's usually just worse with chambered mufflers.
