Larger Exhaust pipes or not?

I have a 03 GT with 5spd, and am going to installseveral bolt ons and was wondering if going to a 3" exhaust pipefrom the headers back would bea good idea? I'm running shorty headers, and will have no cats.

2.5 max, dont run 3s unless ur pushing big power

Yeah I thought so. I'm on my 5th mustang; 1969 convt. 302, 1986 5.0, 1998 gt, 2001 gt, and now this one. My 69 I had 3" from collector back but this car isn't as much hp. thanks.
