180 t-stat

Someone posted suggesting that i get a new one because im about to start putting my engine back together..

andddd i dunno what that is lol. (please dont make fun :P)

haha i knewwwww i shoulda googled it!! what is it?

and im really just gonna be a extra set of hands to put the engine together. The brains is the guy who owns the shop and is helping (well really doing) me put it together

If you are staying NA then leave it stock. You only need to drop down the Tstat when making big power but at the same time you have to upgrade the entire cooling system. The 192* tstat is just fine.

Maybe not blindfolded but I could talk someone thru building a 4.6 over the phone (did it once). I still have to ask about things every now and then so I don't know everything.

i run a jet 180 t-stat. i can tell you it most definately helps the car run a bit cooler than it was before the 180 t-stat....which helps...especially in okc where its been getting close to 110 degrees outside everyday.

I'm pretty sure I'm the one who told you to get one. They are like 10 bucks tops. It is just a thermostat. and the 180 means it starts reading temps at 180 degrees. It is located on your intake manifold on the driver side. It never hurts to buy a new one.
