Default Dead battery...

Well I went to crank the GT this morning....nuttin. I pulled the Ranger over and jumped it, started the GT and unhooked the jumper cables. It continued to run fine so long as I didn't shut it off so I assume it was the battery. Took it to Advance and they tested battery and said it had a dead cell. So after installing a new Advance battery, it seems to be running fine. I let it idle for a few minutes to 'relearn'. Hope all's well now as I'm driving almost an hour each way and drag racing tonight.

Your fine. If the alternator was bad it would have died as soon as you took the jumper cables off.

Thanks. I drove the car one hour each way and won my trophy race last night! The volt meter is right where it should be and the head lights stayed bright so all looks good. Its amazing how much batteries can vary one to the next. My 02 Ranger still has the factory battery!
