Default Won another trophy race!

I am really having fun drag racing. Tonight I ran another Mustang for the final, a 97 GT auto. He dialed in at 15.49 and I dialed in 14.80 and we were door to door at the finish. He barely broke out and I ran a 14.82 at 96 mph. My 60' time was 2.18. The most fun car to watch though was mocked up '57 Chevy with a 427 and a HUGE turbo. I swear that thing sounds like a fighter jet when he spools up that turbo!

You said it...smooth and consistent runs. I do not powershift or bounce off the rev limiter since this is ny DD and can't afford to break something. I now have my times down to within a tenth depending on the time of the evening. I start at 15.1 at 7pm when the sun is still out and its hot, and by 10pm when its cool I'm running 14.8. I adjust my dial-in accordingly. This makes me hard to beat in an index race, so I'm happy with my time.

what do you shift at like 4000? you can drive your car hard without powershifting or bouncing off the rev limiter(only dumb ***** who cant drive bounce off the limiter anyways) my car is a DD and i beat the hell out of it and it still works fine lol

Thanks Snow. I make runs all evening and keep my time slips and try to run the same every run, so the track conditions are the only variable. Superstang, I shift 1>2 about 4500 to prevent wheel spin and my other shifts about 5300. I am very consistent so I have no real incentive to go faster in bracket type racing.

i only ask because i wonder if u get curious as to what your car can actualy do. with the gears alone you should be 13.6-13.8s depending on elevation

Elevation is 1200 ft ASL. Superstang your probably right, I'm sure a more experienced driver could get low 14's or even high 13's out of the car. As I learn and get more experience, my times may drop. It will be a fun learning curve!
