can u convert?
I have a 4.6 engine that i bought at a junkyard for 800 bucks 2V and i was wondering how can i convert it to a 4V if possible and what u guys think I should do to this new engine im gonna start working on Im looking somewhere around 500 RWHP I also wanna add either a turbo or turbos not sure yet let me know what you guys think?
Im gonna go ahead and say you messed up by buying a 2v engine for $800 if you have plans to go f/i... 500whp isn't friends with stock internals.. like 35th said... deep pockets are gonna be needed... no offense but you come off as sort of ignorant about stangs.
but you should have just bought a block... or used yours if you have one? forged internals...(rotating assembly) new heads(4v) since you want them, cooling system, harness, PCM, intake manifolds, then theres all the turbo stuff + supporting mods... =500whp safely... if you build that 2v and it isn't forged, to 500whp its gonna blow up on you, unless you sell your soul to the devil which i dont reccomend.

Wow that junk yard bent you over and took your manhood! I buy complete 4.6 and 5.4 2v engines form local junkyards all the time for $300. I even buy 4v engines for $400. The key is to not tell them you are looking for a mustang or cobra engine. Must junkyard guys don't know that the exact same engines are in other ford cars and trucks.
Like said above you are gonna need to build the bottom end if you want that power level.
