i've tried to launch at everything. i've tried 3500, 2500, 1500, and none.

i've tried feathering it out also. Everytime I always want to shift lower from 1 to 2nd but always get so caught up in the moment i forget haha

like said earlier, i think i just need much more time at the track.

 

You do man. I've been 5 times, and even this last time it took me 2 shoddy runs to get back to improving.

 

Just out of curiosity, what are you doing to trap so high?? I'm running stock gears, but on a 2.193 60', I hit a 13.907 @101.67. I've never managed a 14.1 at over 101mph. With the mods you have over me, I think you can definately shoot at least mid 13s with your setup.

 

He's got more than mid 13's if he can hook. He's making probably 20-30 hp over me, and I just went 13.6 with a high trap speed of just over 101.

Hell, he ought to be able to go 13.6's with a 2.0 60' or so

 

does the car still have a 2v in it? If so, he 105mph traps doesn't make since with your mods. Did you have a negative DA, tail wind or something?

Still 105 is a good trap speed!

 

so was there a tail wind or was it an insane DA? If not, did he buy the car new and is it possible it has more mods than he thinks?
I'm not saying that it's impossible that he trap that in stock form but I think the stars would have to align just right. I've always trapped high myself (as high as 104mph with 228hp, even on slicks) but I know it's not "normal"

 

i dont remember if there was a tail wind or not it has been 2 months since the last time he ran

he bought the car in stock form but he does have the mods listed in his first post

 

I bought the car used. 2nd owner. The only things it had done to it was window tint and rear inserts. The clutch is hella hard to push down though which almost makes me think i have a different clutch. When adding bolt ons all seems to be the first time undoing the bolts. 99 GT vert and i always spend twice the time installing mods due to stupid lock tite etc.

My trap speeds for my 3 runs lately have been: 105.25, 104.65, and 103.75

I dont hear a cam by any means and the block looks totally stock.
