lets talk about suspension shall we?
i have seen stock spring. stock k member setups. 60ft 1.38.... it was an adjustable upper lakewood lower setup.... with your typical lakewood shocks and struts.. do you need to spend money no... but alot of people want different things.. If you want to talk about cheap, i have 200 dollars in my rear end and i have multipe 1.62 60fts on 17inch drag radials...

yeah but its a cheap upgrade, and for a car not making alot of power it will be fine.. cobra owners practically give them aaway too.. THis is because when you are making alot of power they are a little harder to keep together and can get pretty pricey to upgrade.. But on a street type setup irs>solid all day long.. A few guys here at local tracks have done 1.5 60s on 18inch nitto dragradials.. And this is consistently too, not once in a lifetime i got lucky kind of stuff.
I would like to resurface this thread as i am very intrestead. Im looking at these http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...idproduct=1152 along with maximum motorsports full length sub frames. I see the summits seem to work for alot of people as well for a reasonable price. I would love to pull 1.7 60fts on street tires do you think it would be possible with this type of set up? I refuse to spend anymore money on power adders with the exception of pulleys because i cannot plant the little power im making now. My current best is a 13.89 at 102MPH with a 2.1 60ft. This would be for the street and the maybe 12 passes or so I make a year at the track. It makes me sick when i see cars running almost a full second quicker than me trapping the same MPH or less. Of course most of these are on slicks and i know i could do the same with slicks as well. Its seems to be that suspension is the key to getting lower ETs outta these cars not more power. If i could go back and do things over again i would love to take a show room stock stang with budget suspension mods and maybe gears alone and see how much quicker you could make one run on the track.
