What I meant was, since I can rarely afford an open track event anymore, 5k in a suspension set up is slightly overkill for just the street.

Is that a little less confusing?
ya that made sense, the 5k you spent for the track is awesome, but not necessary for the street. On the topic of suspension, what struts shocks do you have?

Lots of interesting stuff here. I'll chime in a little about what I've learned about suspension in the 7 years I've had my car. Dime's control arms will be fine as long as he don't start $hitting out bushings. My car ran 12.89 (1.71 60") on BFG drag radials with 247rwhp and using stock OEM upper and lower control arms. I added Steeda lowers over the winter and went 11.56 with a 1.60 60' on the nitrous. Still using the stock OEM uppers. I had Lakewood 90/10's and stock shocks out back with Fox 4cyl springs and V8 rears. A cheap but effective set-up. It doesn't take big $ to get a car to hook. I have some nicer stuff now and have got the 60's down to 1.63 on motor and 1.55 on N2O with tires I drive to the track on.

Just bolt-ons, 4.10 gears and the suspension mods. Made the car run 12's on motor then added a NX single nozzle kit. Simple but effective...............

So im thinking of Strange shocks/struts, cut stock springs, summit u/l control arms and sperical bushings for my car. do you think that will give me the hooking ability that im looking for??? i mean i want lowering springs but i figure if i can cut the stockers, it will give me the lower stance, same ride quality, and wouldnt be hurting anything because i would have the aftermarket shocks/struts. so anyone else think this is a good idea???

Be careful and not cut too much from the springs and you should be OK. With spherical bushings you MUST have your torque boxes at least welded up ASAP.

Check the link. The control arms in the pics have spherical bushings or bearings. Solid metal with no rubber or plastic and are very hard on the torque boxes.
