Default Clutch Squeak

i have a 2003 gt mustang, and i have a clutch squeak that happens when i depress the pedal, it doesnt affect performance the car still feels the same, the only thing is the clutch pedal has gotten a little bit harder to press, i sprayed wd 40 under the dash on the pedal and the squeak stopped, after a couple of days the noise came back, is the cable going bad? how would i know? what are the symptoms of a bad clutch cable?

Sounds like the same problem I have. I think its the throw out bearing. My throw out bearing chirps as well and my clutch pedal doesnt have a smooth deel. But I hear nothing when the music is on and it still works fine. Not to mention my clutch isn't that old. So I am leaving it.

It sounds like a throw out bearing but it wouldn't go away if you sprayed wd40 under the dash.

You have to take the clutch fork cover off to spray the tob. If the squeek went away after spraying the clutch cable, there's your answer. Maybe you can try a different lubricant like white lithium grease.

so after trying more grease i gave up, i took it to a mechanic and he told me the cable was out of adjustment, we bought the steeda clutch cable kit from mustang magic and installed it, wow it was a big difference, it felt like a new car, so now the car is okay
