Exclamation bamf bird

So I figured intead of spending alot of money on a cobra I have a 4.6 Thunderbird that I'm going to rebuild instead. The weird thing about the car is when then VIN number comes up for insurance or anything it comes up as 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX/SVT. I don't get it. But anyway I need some help with what I want to do. I have the rebuild kit picked out and the cam I want because the rebuild kits don't come with cams. Also is there anything else I'm gonna need besides these two. And also will this rebuild kit give me more power? Here's the links

I used to have a '96 T-Bird and it came up as the same thing on the insurance.

check out www.tccoa.com, they seem to know those cars pretty well, and the J-Mod shift kit article is hosted there, which needs to be one of the 1st things you do.

Yeah I mean for right now just top end rebuild and cam but idk if I will need to buy anything else for now. And it's already got 8.8 posi rear end. And the guy I took it to at this customizing place said he thinks it's got a shift kit in it already.

Pretty much every 96-97 T-bird comes up with SVT in the VIN including my 96 Sport.
And +1 to tccoa forums. Great info on MN12's there.
